Established on August 17, 1972, alongside Government College, Jaiharikhal, the college library has been a cornerstone of academic and
intellectual growth in this rural and mountainous region. Reflecting the college's mission to foster higher education, the library has
evolved to become a vital resource for students, faculty, and the community. The library has a diverse collection of over 20,000 volumes,
including textbooks, reference books, and general reading materials. It subscribes to numerous academic journals, magazines,
and newspapers, ensuring that students and faculty have access to current and relevant information across various disciplines.
Library Objective
The library aims to foster a love for reading and knowledge seeking among students in mountainous regions. To support academic growth,
it offers a comprehensive collection of course-specific text and reference books and periodicals aiding in preparation for competitive exams.
Additionally, the library features an extensive collection of Garhwal-centric books, covering the region's literature, flora, and fauna,
enriching students' understanding of their local heritage.
Library History
The library began its journey within the premises of Government Inter College in Jaiharikhal. In May 2004, it was relocated coinciding with the
college's move to its new campus. Over the years, the library has grown in both size and scope, continually expanding its collection and services
to meet the educational needs of its patrons. The library was shifted to its new dedicated building in 2022-23.
